Kurt Heidelberg is a Principal Investigator for IEA. He has 20 years of experience in archaeology and environmental planning and management, focusing in the Mojave and Sonora Deserts, the Pacific Coast and the mountain and intermontane regions within. He has worked for numerous consultants, government agencies, and universities during his career, developing expertise in regional history and prehistory, State and Federal regulations and cultural compliance requirements, survey, evaluation and data recovery methods, Native American consultation and environmental project management. His topical areas of expertise include flaked stone technology and lithic procurement strategies, cave archaeology, settlement patterns, database and technological solutions development, and GIS including predictive modeling and geospatial analysis.
